Kyabram Cricket Club will host Central Park-St Brendan’s in the final of Cricket Shepparton’s one-day (45 overs) competition.
Kyabram will be chasing its first flag in this format since its move to Cricket Shepparton in the 2012 season from the former Kyabram District Cricket Association.
Saturday’s clash will be played at Kyabram Recreation Reserve starting at 11.30am.
This competition is based on five one-day games played to kick off the 2025-26 Cricket Shepparton Haisman Shield season.
Kyabram dropped only one game from its five matches and that was against its opponent on Saturday.
But star veteran Kyabram opener and club president Paul Parsons tipped this week the match is likely to be closely as well as keenly contested.
‘‘They have a strong batting line-up headed by Tyler Larkin and Connor Hayes, who currently head the runs aggregate in the Haisman Shield competition. So we will need to be at our best to beat them,’’ Parsons said.
The Tigers also boast an attack which contains competition leading wicket-takers Ramadan Yze and Dwain Vidler.
But Kyabram has potential match-winners with the bat in the Mueller brothers Kyle and Cade and Parsons, who is currently among the top five run-getters in the competition.
Kyabram has also boosted its pace attack in recent games with the addition of former Cooma player Sam Langley who has been among the wickets since his move to the club.
Refreshments will be available for an expected large crowd likely to attend with no other games in the competition on the day or until the new year.
