In round seven, Kyvalley Red scored a huge win over Girgarre to further cement itself as the dominant force in the competition, while Black continues to be second best with a handy triumph over Undera.
Hosting Girgarre at Kyvalley Tennis Club, it was an absolute clinic for the Red mirage, sweeping the visitor 10-0.
The only real fight from Undera was in the third women’s doubles match, with Dana Boyle and Adele Seabrook pushing Tilly Forde and Paige Berner 6-8.
Out of the 10 sets, four of them were sweeps including the first men's and women's doubles, the second men's singles and the last mixed doubles.
At Undera Tennis Club, Kyvalley Black didn’t have quite the astounding success as its clubmate, but still got the job done in convincing fashion 7-3.
Undera’s Dale Phillips conquered Black’s Ryan Cooper 6-3 to get his team on the board in the first men’s singles before Jared Mioni fired back with a win over James Cocca 6-2.
Mioni and Riley Wakenshaw took down Cocca and Hamish Smith in the first men’s doubles to further increase Black’s lead with an 8-6 scalp before Wakenshaw and Cooper piled on the misery for Undera with another 8-6 win.
With two rounds remaining in the competition before the Christmas break, it’ll be an interesting test of strength this Saturday as both Kyvalley teams will go head-to-head at home.
