Waaia, batting first, compiled 150 off 44.4 overs with the Ky pace attack led by Nic Chambers and Matt McDonald both claiming three wickets.
In reply and led by experienced Troy Thomson Kyabram rounded up Katandra’s score in 32.4 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Thomson finished with an unbeaten 47 off 57 deliveries with seven fours and received most support from opener Jack Young (29), Tim Nelson (18) and Mason McDonald with 15 not out.
Kyabram has the bye in the coming round and then tackles unbeaten ladder leader Euroa in the final round so is under the pump to play finals.
In the Jim McGregor C-grade shield, Undera batted well trying to hunt down the 7-232 set by Karramomus, but the total proved a bridge too far for the Lions.
Opener Adrian McGregor put the Karramomus innings on his back, smashing 15 boundaries on his way to 105 from 115.
Jagjeevanjeet Singh was a willing deputy, making 43 from 32, while Cody Heazlewood was expensive but made the vital breakthroughs for Undera, taking 3-49.
The Undera chase was a true team effort, with six of the top eight making more than 20 runs.
The Lions couldn’t find that standout performance though, with Pardeep Kumar and Travis Guppy the two leaders with 43.
In the end, key wickets caused Undera to simply run out of time, completing its 40 overs still 15 runs short at 8-217.
