Commencing their season at a temporary home at Echuca South Recreation Reserve, the Murray Bombers went into the clash looking to make an early statement against a Tatura outfit that struggled greatly in 2025.
Echuca wasted little time stamping its authority, kicking four of the first five goals of the match.

Echuca flexed its muscles in devastating fashion during the remainder of the second, kicking 10 straight majors without reply to lead 14.12 (96) to 3.0 (18) at half-time, before adding another five in the third to balloon the margin out to 115 points by three-quarter time.

As a result, the Murray Bombers maintained their 115-point margin to conclude the match, triumphing 23.19 (157) to 7.0 (42), with only some inaccuracy in front of goal preventing the margin from being even greater.
