Two of the club’s most prominent couples were to the fore with Andrew and Vicki Brunker winning the scratch event on 78, and John and Margie Radeski taking out the handicap trophy with a 68 net.
It was the start of a busy week on the course that continued yesterday with a 2-person ambrose as part of the Double Date tournament, which will today feature the Mary Bradshaw Bowl stableford event.
The club welcomes our visitors and trusts everyone enjoys the tournament and our hospitality.
There have been numerous events over the past week, starting with a stableford last Thursday which attracted only a small field due to the conditions, but that did not stop Leanne Landy who scored an incredible 49 points to defeat runner-up Karen Butcher on 41.
Saturday was a fourball best ball stableford, won by Dylan Osborne and Clayton Howe with 45 points, from runners-up Nick Metcalfe and John Henderson scoring 43, on countback to Peter Seely and Neville Werner.
No results are available from Tuesday’s 9 hole competition.
There are also no detailed results from Wednesday, though best scores were Denise Hunter with 38 points, Lee Pattinson on 37, with Stephen Townsend, Graham Flanagan and Graeme Rothwell all recording 35.
Coming up, tomorrow is stableford and Sunday is the popular 9 holes 4-person ambrose off the gold tees.
Next week, on Tuesday there is 9 holes stroke and putting, Wednesday is stableford, Thursday is medley stroke for the ladies monthly medal and Saturday is medley stroke for the men’s monthly medal.
In the clubhouse, the Flagstick Bistro continues to provide excellent meals at a reasonable price. Current trading hours are Wednesday to Sunday, with lunch from 11am to 2.30pm and dinner from 5pm to 8.30pm. Function bookings are also welcome, and make sure you check out the new menu.
Don’t forget Friday Night Fun continues tonight. Raffle tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws at 7pm, and happy hour is 6pm to 7pm.
