But a familiar face will be missing from the Kyabram line-up.
Left-arm off-spinner Louis Sabbah-Holt won’t be playing due to a hold up with his visa application.
The English import had been all set to play his fourth consecutive season with Kyabram, for which he has already taken 74 wickets in the Haisman Shield.
‘‘At this stage, he is still trying to get a visa, and we are hoping he can, but are not really sure at this stage,’’ new Kyabram Cricket Club president Cade Mueller said.
Except for Sabbah-Holt, Mueller said Kyabram would field the same team this season as the one which claimed the premiership decisively last year.
“Louis will be missed, but we still have a spinner in Alec Young who might have to do more bowling this season, and the rest of last season’s premiership side are still around,” he said.
Mueller said wicketkeeper-batsman Ethan Hart was fit again and ready to play a full season, and Tim Nelson, Tom Holman and young fast bowling prospect Anthony Evans would press for selection in the premier side.
Kyabram boasts one of the strongest batting line-ups in the competition, led by All Australian Country representative Kyle Mueller.
