Travelling to Mooroopna Recreation Reserve on Saturday, the Redbacks had the first crack with the bat but found scoring difficult over their 20 overs.
Several Kyabram batters occupied the crease, but couldn’t breach the disciplined Mooroopna field.
Cathy Dervish top-scored with 13 retired not out from 32 deliveries, while number 11 Eliza Linehan was the only other batter to find the boundary, finally getting something going in the last couple of overs with a quickfire 10 not out from 10 balls.
The Redbacks posted just 7-48, Tamsyn Hutchins the Mooroopna leader with the ball with 2-2.
Mooroopna faced its own share of struggles in the run chase, but Gemma Boyd ensured the victory would come to her side.
Despite losing two teammates to golden ducks, Boyd made a confident 32 from 22 to get her side to the target in only six overs.
Of the four Redbacks who got the opportunity with the ball, Lacy Parsons stood out, taking 2-17, while Grace Hammond took 1-9.
Still winless, Kyabram will take on league leader Nagambie, in Nagambie, on Sunday.
