With two balls to be bowled Mooroopna needed four runs to win when their last batsman, Luke Zanchetta, strode to the wicket.
He’d promptly hit a four off the first delivery he faced to get his side over the line.
Earlier another fine Paul Parsons innings had helped Kyabram reach 7/204.
Parsons, who made a century against Tatura in round three made 90 and was at the wicket while Kyabram added 163 runs to their score.
His innings contained eight fours and he faced 118 deliveries.
Parsons shared a 103-run stand with skipper Kyle Mueller for the fourth wicket.
Mueller, carrying an injury, was a bit subdued than normal with his 46 coming off 71 deliveries with two fours and two sixes.
After the dismissals of Parsons and Mueller, Charlie McLay was able to give the Kyabram score a late boost, clubbing an unbeaten 37 off 30 deliveries with one four and two sixes as Kyabram reached 7/204.
Mooroopna didn’t have a multiple wicket taker, with opening bowler Zanchetta the most economical, conceding only 18 runs off nine overs and picking up one wicket.
In B grade, Kyabram chased down Mooroopna’s score of 7/195, thanks mainly to a matchwinning knock of 88 from opener Jason Leocata.
Leocata’s knock of 88 off 113 deliveries and Anthony Depasquale 47 off 56 deliveries in his debut with the club got Kyabram home with 11 balls to spare.
Leocata hit 12 boundaries while Depasquale’s dashing 47 came off 56 deliveries with 8 boundaries.
In Mooroopna’s innings Connor McLeod and Ross Brown were Kyabram’s only multiple wicket takers, each with two, while bowing spearhead Nic Chambers was the most economical with 0/17 off nine overs.
