RSL outplay Rich River in opener

The Deni RSL Diggers travelled to Rich River for round one of the Campaspe Midweek Pennant on Tuesday.

The Division 2 side proved they are worthy to be playing pennant with a convincing win.

Rod Reid skipped Lyn Hardcastle, Chris Frampton and Archie Webster to a win of seven shots, with final scores being 23 to 16.

Niels Hilton’s team of Jo Chick, Ian McKenzie and Ken Bowden never showed any sign of being beaten, with a win of 20 shots - 31-11.

Tim Dover’s team had a hard fought battle.

With Graham Gordon, Allan Hodges and Miro Peterman, they never gave up but went down by 10 shots - 24-14.

Total scores after 63 ends was Deni RSL Diggers 68 to Rich River 51.

The Rich River greens were in great condition, the sun was in and out, and all players put down some fantastic and memorable bowls.
