The Shepparton Bulls and Shepparton Eagles are firmly in the mix of their respective premiership races and it all kicks off this weekend.
The Bulls’ senior men’s three-peat is still alive, finishing third in the Rugby Victoria Championship.
They head to Brimbank Rugby Club for Saturday’s do-or-die semi-final against the Bucks, who the Bulls have bested two out of the three times they have met in 2025.
The Shepparton second XV is atop the reserves ladder with nine wins and three defeats and it awaits the winner of Brimbank and Powerhouse.
In the rugby league code, the Eagles are also hoping to emulate last year’s premiership glory.
Shepparton’s senior men come into the semi-final against 2024 grand final opponent Tumbarumba with some imperious form at its back, but against a side it has yet to defeat.
The two clubs will face off at Corowa Rugby Ground this Sunday at 3.15pm.

But before that, the Eagles women will come into their 12.15pm clash against Corowa as the hunted.
Shepparton has dominated the league tag division this season, undefeated after 13 games and clinching the minor premiership with a 58-4 win over the Border Bears.
The Eagles have won both encounters against the Cougars this season and coach Matt Lammon said the buy-in across the board was apparent from day one.
“We’ll give it a red-hot crack,” Lammon said.
“Just getting to training, it all starts from there; we put the effort in there and take it out on to the field.
“Our line speed, our defence, our communication on the field, it’s been good.
“I couldn't have done it without our captain Deb (Fili), she’s helped me a lot.
“It’s been a really good team effort; the ones injured and the ones not playing, everyone’s been on board and the support from everyone has been really good.”
