Ky lost by 65 and 53 goals respectively across its opening two matches, with fielding enough players for games taking priority over results at the moment, while Tatura no doubt saw the clash as an opportunity to notch its first win of 2026.
The Bulldogs made a strong start in front of their home crowd, scoring 10 of the game’s first 11 goals, Kyabram trailing 17-6 at the end of the first period.
Emma Quinn’s team had given up 47 first half goals in each of its opening two games, but it fared much better at that end against Tatura, who added another 12 in the second quarter to lead 29-10 at half-time.
Kyabram’s offensive output improved to start the second half, the Bombers scoring six goals in the third period, as did Tatura’s, the hosts increasing their margin heading into the fourth with another 15 goals.
The final period saw Ky produce its best goalscoring quarter with seven, but again Tatura matched the feat with another 19, the Bulldogs running out 63-23 winners.
The Bombers named Abbey Hromenko as best on via their Facebook page, the Elmore player filling in as her side served a bye in the Heathcote District Netball League.
This weekend Kyabram will face one of the league’s tougher tests in Echuca, the two sides duelling under the lights at Kyabram Recreation Reserve on Saturday from 6.30pm.
