Mueller was notified last week of his selection after several training sessions.
It is the third successive season the Kyabram Cricket Club skipper and prolific run-maker will represent his town, state, club and the Cricket Shepparton competition.
The national titles are being held in Western Australia’s Margaret River-Bussleton area from January 3 to 10.
Mueller is one of three Cricket Shepparton players selected in the Victorian squad.
The other two are Central Park-St Brendan’s skipper Tyler Larkin and Waaia pace bowler Jesse Trower.
Larkin, Trower and Mueller were also members of the Victorian side which claimed the title last year in South Australia’s Barossa Valley.
Trower was named in the All Australian side after those titles and Mueller claimed the Fieldsman of the Carnival award for the second year running.
Mueller said it was a big honour to again win selection in the team to represent his state.
He feels he has learned a lot at two previous national carnivals and is well prepared for the experience for the third time.
‘‘You are playing against the best country cricketers in Australia, so it is a real challenge,’’ Mueller said.
It’s been a big week for Mueller who last Saturday captained the Kyabram Cricket Club to its first one-day title in the Cricket Shepparton competition.
He made 39 to a lead a batting revival for his team which lost two wickets in the first over after winning the toss and electing to bat against Central Park-St Brendan’s.
Mueller was promoted to opener for the clash, but is likely to bat in the middle or lower order for the Vics who play the host state in the first round of the titles on Saturday week, January 3.
