The Tigers continue to roar in 2025, notching their third win of the season against the Redlegs at Tallygaroopna Recreation Reserve.
Despite a relatively close contest, Rushworth was too much for Tallygaroopna with the hosts falling by 11 points in round five.
The final score was Rushworth 31 to Tallygaroopna 20.
Maya Barlow, Lilly Waarsdorp and Kasey Barlow were identified as the Tigers’ best in the match.
Rushworth has a prime opportunity to make it three wins on the bounce when it faces Murchison-Toolamba in round six.

Girgarre v Stanhope
In a completely one-sided contest, the 2024 premiers put Stanhope to the sword at Girgarre Recreation Reserve.
The Lions never really stood a chance despite tallying 32 goals for their day, but it paled in comparison to the 71 goals banked by Girgarre’s goalers.
It is the second time the Kangaroos have scored 70 or more goals in a match, and have yet to dip below 60 goals in 2025, as they keep their unbeaten streak alive heading into round six.
Even with its impressive start to 2025, Girgarre still finds itself in second place behind Shepparton East, which will be its next opponent in a clash of title heavyweights this weekend.

Merrigum v Violet Town
The Bulldogs finally got the monkey off their back after securing a close but all-important victory against Violet Town in round five.
Merrigum escaped with a six-goal win in the contest and is no longer on the bottom of the table, leaving that honour to still winless Longwood.
The final score was Merrigum 40 to Violet Town 34.
Georgia Wilson and Rae Elrayah were named best-on-court for the Bulldogs in the contest.
Speaking of Longwood, Merrgium has a prime opportunity to double its wins for the season when it faces the current wooden-spooners in round six.

Lancaster v Shepparton East
The Wombats weren’t able to top the current ladder leaders in round five despite resistance.
The 2024 runners-up put up a valiant fight, but were ultimately toppled by the Eagles 31 to 49.
Lexi Thomas and Karla Ryan were named as Lancaster’s best against Violet Town.
The 18-point defeat sees the Wombats even out the season with a pair of wins and losses, and will look to get back into the winners’ column when they face Violet Town in round six.
