Mathoura have won their way to the Division 1 grand final, where they will go head-to-head with reigning premiers Tongala.
It is the first time a Division 1 side has made a grand final in the history of the club.
The Cutters won their way into the final match with a narrow defeat over Moama at the Deniliquin Bowling Club greens last weekend, 52 shots to 47.
Despite losing on two rinks, a comfortable win for one of the Mathoura teams saw the Cutters through.
Ricky Ireland, Dennis McHarry, Peter Pangrazio and skip Peter Holzer went down to the Steamers in a close game, 22 shots to 18.
Helen Holzer, Paul Clear, David Hicks, and skip Jason McCloy also came off second best to Moama, who won 18 shots to 15.
Mick Humphreys skipped his team of Brett Quilty, Lindsay Franklin and Arthur Murphy to a good win, however, recording a 19 shots to seven victory.
The Deniliquin RSL Diggers have the chance to back up a Midweek Pennant premiership with its Division 4 side to meet Echuca tomorrow.
The Diggers are in the grand final after a heart-stopping victory over Moama in the preliminary final at the Deniliquin Bowling Club on Saturday.
The Diggers prevailed by a single shot, 57-56, after a tense battle all afternoon.
Skips Wayne Bradley and John Wilson drew important single shots on their respective rinks with their last bowls to give RSL an overall six-shot lead, with Bruce Clancy’s team just starting their final end.
In a dramatic finish, Moama scored a game-high five shots to fall agonisingly short by the barest of margins.
RSL’s teams for tomorrow are: Wayne Bradley (s), Rod Reid, Ian Chessells, Gaye Goodwin; John Wilson (s), Paul Connor, Graeme Gordon, Callan Glenn; Brue Clancy (s), Peter Todd, Neville Austin, Ella Hipworth.
Deniliquin Bowling Club
Both pennant competitions may be over for the Deniliquin Bowling Club, but there is still a bit of intra-club activity happening.
In fact, there are two finals which will both be played at 11am on Sunday.
Steven King and Craig Hillier will do battle to decide the B-grade Singles Champion.
The final of the Open Pairs will also take place when Graham Nisbet and Simon Chisholm take on Jamie Shields and John Flisher in what should be a quality game of bowls.
