In one of the more unbalanced match-ups of round 12 Kyabram District League football, Lancaster got a great percentage-boosting victory over struggling Tallygaroopna.

Hosting the Wombats at Tallygaroopna Recreation Reserve, the Redlegs found themselves in trouble from the jump, notching two behinds in the opening quarter.

Meanwhile, Lancaster kicked 7.4 to run away with the game before it even started.

The Wombats continued on with their dominance, doubling up their score while Tallygaroopna finally got a maximum on the board, which did little to quell a blossoming Lancaster lead.

It was a slower third term for the Wombats in comparison to their first-half dominance, adding 3.4 to their tally while the Redlegs notched a second goal.

With the win all but in the bag, Lancaster was in cruise control through the final stretch, nailing another four goals to ice the game.

However, Tallygaroopna (3.3) produced a nice little fightback throughout the fourth quarter, having its most productive period in front of goal.

Alas, it wasn’t to be for the Redlegs with the Wombats taking a 21.15 (141) to 5.8 (38) win.

The 103-point thrashing will do wonders for Lancaster’s already substantial percentage, particularity as it tries to hunt down the still undefeated reigning premier Murchison-Toolamba in the standings.

Speaking of, the Wombats will have their greatest test of flag legitimacy in round 13 when they host the Grasshoppers at Lancaster Recreation Reserve in what could well be a 2025 grand final preview.
