Echuca-Moama sides continued to cruise through the Goulburn Murray women’s and girls’ leagues at the weekend.

Echuca’s women hosted Mansfield at Victoria Park on Sunday and showed far too much quality for the Eagles.

The visitor was kept goalless, allowed only two behinds for the match, while Echuca scored strongly through much of the game.
Each of the first two quarters saw the Murray Bombers slot three majors, building a lead of 40 at half-time.
The third term saw neither side find the goals, but Echuca returned to the majors column in the fourth, capping the game with two more.

Sienna Lee led the Echuca effort with three goals, while Lily Hillman was the other multiple goal-kicker with two.
Matilda Cooke, Olivia Dewar and coach Kate Dixon also chipped in with majors.
Shepparton United’s bye has seen the Murray Bombers draw level with the Demons at the top of the ladder.

The two top sides won’t meet again until the final week of the regular season, after United took the first meeting by three goals.
Echuca will be in Tatura on Friday, taking on the Bulldogs at 7.30pm at Tatura Park.
In the girls’ league, both Moama and Echuca United continue to sweep aside the competition as finals begin to appear on the horizon.

The Eagles prevailed earlier in the year by 59 points, but the Demons were able to keep things closer this week.
Echuca United was still well on top, particularly in the first half, where it logged 5.3 (33) to Shepp’s 1.2 (8).
The second half actually fell slightly in the Demons’ favour as both sides managed only a single goal after the break, but the Eagles cruised home 6.5 (41) to 2.6 (18).
Jada Dennis and Hayleigh Lewer kicked two goals each, supported by majors from Zarlia Jenkins and Jemma Lewis.

Moama visited Nathalia Recreation Reserve and held the hosting Purples scoreless for three quarters.
It wasn’t the most accurate afternoon for the league leader as Moama kicked 7.11 for the game, but it was more than enough to pick up the win, the Magpies on top 7.11 (53) to 1.1 (7).

Shaleah Cooper was responsible for three of the Mowers’ goals, while Beth Morris added two and Ruby McLeod and Madeline Williams each kicked one.
Next week, Echuca United (6-2) and Moama (9-0) will meet for the second time this season, facing off in what is increasingly looking like a grand final preview at Echuca South Recreation Reserve.
