Northern Victoria resource manager Mark Bailey said the Murray system seasonal determination had increased from 60 per cent of high-reliability water shares to 73 per cent.
The Goulburn and Loddon systems increased from 44 per cent to 47 per cent HRWS, while the the Broken system increased from 12 per cent to 17 per cent.
The Campaspe system remained at 100 per cent HRWS, and the Bullarook system is unchanged at zero per cent.
Dr Bailey said flows into the major storages had driven the increases.
“The flows into the storages were higher than our forecasts,” he said on September 15.
“The rain and showers since the last update have kept waterways flowing.
“The Murray system received the largest increase after improvements in the Murray storages and flows from the Ovens River.
“There was a small improvement in the Bullarook system but not enough to secure the operating requirements. More rainfall and flows are needed to close the gap to a seasonal determination.”
Meanwhile, NSW Murray general security irrigators will have access to 10 per cent of their entitlement, following a five per cent boost announced on September 15.
NSW Water said the improved allocation came about through inflows into dams and reduced evaporation and transmission losses.
