Alcaraz, whose second trophy of 2026 came 20 days after he completed the career grand slam at the Australian Open, dictated the match from the outset and won a remarkable 89 per cent of his first-serve points while never facing a break point during the 50-minute encounter.
"I came this year hungry for more," said the Spanish top seed, who lost in the Doha quarter-finals last year.
"I think after every tournament, we just have to set new goals. I'm just really happy and proud of everything I have done with my team on and off the court."
The 22-year-old now leads Frenchman Fils 3-0 in their head-head series and has extended his outdoor hard-court winning streak to 30 matches — a run that includes major triumphs at the Australian and US Opens.
With the win, Alcaraz also improved to 12-0 for the year and collected his ninth ATP 500 trophy, which drew him level with Andy Murray for fourth in the category since its inception in 2009, according to the ATP.
With his run to a first tour-level final since winning the 2024 title in Tokyo, former world No.14 Fils jumped seven spots to No.33 in the rankings.
"It's been eight long months with my injury," said Fils.
"So in a time like this, you just have to think about the last eight months when I was struggling, not playing tennis.
"I just want to thank my team ... Today was not the day but I think we did a hell of a job."
