Walkover gifts Jordan Thompson Brisbane quarters berth

Thompson joins compatriot James Duckworth in the final eight and will play the winner of Rafael Nadal and Jason Kubler, who lock horns later on Thursday in Pat Rafter Arena for a semi-final berth.

World No.55 Thompson had cruised past fellow Australian Aleksandar Vukic 6-3 6-2 to reach the second round of the rain-hit tournament.
