As part of Campaspe Shire's 2019-20 Capital Works Program, the animal shelter has seen changes to multiple parts of its facility.
Acting regulatory and community services general manager Kate Lemon said multiple projects had been completed.
“Upgrade works at the Campaspe Animal Shelter are almost finished,” she said.
“So far, new shade sails over external exercise yards have been installed to protect animals from the weather, acoustic treatments to the indoor dog area to reduce noise have been done, a new reception counter with security improvements to the area has been added and a new dog yard/exercise area with synthetic grass is now complete.”
A closure to keep birds out and upgrades to the ranger drop-off area are under way and expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, anyone wanting to see the cats or dogs up for adoption or what the shelter has to offer will need to make an appointment before attending.
