The Berrigan Library opened its doors to the community on Thursday, July 30, welcoming more than 120 visitors for its official Open Day following extensive renovations.

Library officer Jenny Congdon said the event was a great success, with strong support from Berrigan Public School and the wider community.
“We had all the primary school come through,” she said.
“The kids were gorgeous, it was wonderful to see their excitement.”
The library, which has served the community for 136 years, now boasts a much more usable space, with bigger areas for events, thanks to the recent upgrades.
Students visiting the library learned about its history, before taking a small tour of the town and seeing where the library was previously situated.
Ms Congdon said the improvements have made the facility more inviting and versatile for future programs.
“It’s been a very successful couple of days,” she said.
Visitors enjoyed a free soup lunch, along with children’s activities throughout the day, as part of the Riverina Regional Library’s ‘Open Doors, Open Books, Open Minds’ initiative.
