Trevor and Heather (nee Kenworthy) were married on a freezing cold and wet Saturday, June 11 in 1966, at Mt Pleasant Church, Ballarat, followed by a reception at Hately’s Hotel.
They met the year before, when they were bridesmaid and best man at the wedding of her sister to his brother!
Trevor and Heather went on to settle in Tyers (Gippsland) where they continued to farm, following on from Trevor’s parents, establishing a successful dairy farm.
Heather taught at Traralgon High School before welcoming sons Stuart and Ross, and daughter Cheryl. They then left Gippsland to expand their dairy farming operations in Berrigan in 1994 with their son Ross.
Today, Trevor is still working full time on the farm, and Heather is well known in the Berrigan community, particularly through her activity with the church.
They are incredibly proud of their four grandchildren - Angus and Lachlan Jones, sons of their daughter Cheryl and husband Adrian who live in Bacchus Marsh, and Abbey and Callum Tanner, daughter and son of Ross and Chelsea Tanner, who live on the local farm.
They celebrated their anniversary with a family dinner at the Finley Country Club, where they were surprised with a special cake that had their wedding picture on it.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Tanner on your milestone anniversary!
