The announcement comes as EMTC rides a remarkable wave of success following its 2026 production of The Rocky Horror Show, which scored a record 18 Georgy Award nominations.
EMTC president Darcy Elliott said the company wanted to build on that momentum with another ambitious production capable of bringing performers, musicians and audiences together.
“After the incredible response to Rocky Horror, we knew we wanted to come back in 2027 with something just as big, bold and exciting,” Darcy said.
“We Will Rock You gives us the chance to do exactly that. It is a huge show with incredible music, plenty of energy and so many opportunities for our local performers and creatives.”
Built around the music of Queen, We Will Rock You features some of the band’s most recognisable songs and promises to give EMTC the chance to once again deliver a large-scale musical spectacle.

But before performers can take to the stage, the company needs to assemble the team that will make it happen behind the scenes.
Expressions of interest are now open for people wanting to join the We Will Rock You production team.
EMTC is encouraging people with a range of skills and experience to put their hands up to help bring the ambitious musical to life.
“Whether you've been involved with EMTC for years or have always wanted to get involved in theatre but haven't taken that first step, we'd love to hear from you,” Darcy said.
Expressions of interest will close on October 15.
Applicants should email info@emtc.org.au, outlining the area they would like to work in and what they could bring to the production.
