IT'S the perfect time to encourage your kids to have a hit, with the Kyabram Lawn Tennis Club hosting a come and try day for their Hot Shots program this Saturday.
Organiser and resident pro tennis player David Starling said getting children as young as three involved in tennis helps with co-ordination and fine motor skills.
“Our three to six age group really just focus on the fundamental hand-eye co-ordination and our over six-year-old kids get to start having a bit of a hit and learn the basics of tennis,” he said.
“It's a very relaxed environment and parents are able to walk around and participate with their kids, so for those who might be a little shy or unsure about giving something a go without mum or dad, this is a perfect opportunity.”
The five-week program will kick off Saturday week on October 19 and costs $30.
Families can register online at kyabramtennis.com.au or pick up a registration form at the come and try event.
