The grant is designed to allow integral works to be completed in readiness for the reopening of the park and ensure everyone’s experience is high quality.
The collaboration of Kyabram Club and Community Bank has also developed longer-term investment plans for the Kyabram Fauna Park to support the park’s sustainability and future development.
Kyabram and District Community Bank chairman Vincent Curtis said he was proud to make this investment on behalf of shareholders, members, customers and the community.
“We have been proud to support the Kyabram Fauna Park since we established the Community Bank model in Kyabram four years ago and this grant will ensure that we support high quality experiences for park visitors whilst the fauna park develops the park further,” he said.
“This announcement further demonstrates the deep connection we have with our Kyabram community. It is a great reminder of the good that banking locally can do when profits are returned to benefit local people and their communities. This grant is just another important investment we’ve made locally since 2015 and with Kyabram’s support, we can invest even further into our community.”
The Kyabram Club has also been a major contributor to the fauna park over several years, contributing substantially to many major projects that have made the park a must-visit tourist attraction within Campaspe Shire.
“Working together with the Community Bank has allowed both of us to invest into the park both short term and longer term with the purpose being to attract people to our community and our businesses,” Kyabram Club chair Terry Nepean said.
The Community Bank and Kyabram Club models are both based on a ‘profit-with-purpose’ philosophy, which means profits are returned directly to the local community that has generated them.
The community decides where those profits are invested.
