Kyabram quilt artist Sue Reid will be participating in the trail at the Kyabram Town Hall Gallery.
Sue's artistic process is distinctive.
“I like things that are very modern and contemporary,” she said.
“With my fabric art, I tend to start off with a white piece of fabric and I paint on it, then I either hand embroider or machine embroider over that, and then I quilt it.
“My art quilts, they hang on the wall.
“They are not meant to go on a bed or anything else.”
The artist draws inspiration from her mathematical background and love of colour.
“I've got a mathematical background, so I love patterns and also love colour,” Sue said.
“I usually say orange is my favourite colour, so I tend to like bright colours.
“Orange goes with lots of colours, because it goes with purples, it goes with aquas.”
Sue recently relocated part-time to Magnetic Island, which has influenced her work.
“We have just bought a house here (Magnetic Island), that we will live in half the time and then the other half in Kyabram,” she said.
“At the moment, this sounds odd, my current work is inspired by fish and working in fisheries.”

During the trail, visitors will witness Sue's creative process firsthand.
“For the Campaspe Studio Art Trail, I will be at the Kyabram Town Hall Gallery and will be working on a quilt with the fish, so people will be able to see it and my process of building the piece,” she said.
More than 25 artists are expected to open studios across Campaspe Shire as part of the Campaspe Studio Art Trail.
Some community art spaces will be open as part of the trail for artists who practise their art at home and don't have a publicly accessible studio.
These include Factory 20A and the Foundry Arts Space in Echuca, Tongala Street Art Studio and the Kyabram Town Hall Gallery, alongside the individual artists’ studios.
