The Rotary Club of Seymour recently revealed the total figure it raised alongside Ampol Foodary, Tallarook was $2439.
During the appeal on Good Friday last month, local Rotary volunteers based themselves at the service station on the north-bound side of the Hume Fwy.
On site, they asked passing travellers to dig deep, and they certainly did so.
“Everyone was happy to give to the kids and support a very worthy cause, even with the challenging times families are experiencing at the moment,” Rotary Club of Seymour president Ruth Byers said.
“We’re very grateful for the opportunity to set up at the service station because it allows us to get donations from outside the local Seymour community.”
Ms Byers thanked Ampol Tallarook north-bound manager Vinay Chintala and other staff for supporting Rotary and allowing the valuable fundraising event to be held at the service station.
On Easter Monday, Rotary volunteers and families were also collecting donations at the south-bound service station, raising more funds to support projects in the local and broader community.
