The club’s $1000 contribution, used to purchase four fridges, will ensure residents and their visiting families have access to drinks and treats throughout the day.
Warramunda Village chief executive officer John Clark said the donation directly supported the village’s commitment to independence and choice.
“These snack stations are a simple idea with a powerful impact. They promote autonomy, dignity and everyday enjoyment — key elements of Standard 6 in aged care.”
“We are incredibly grateful to the Kyabram Lions for helping us bring this long‑planned initiative to life.”
Residents, including Maureen and Bob Ferguson, make regular use of the new fridges, which have also become a crowd favourite with grandchildren wanting to enjoy a treat with their grandparents.
“We’re thrilled to see the fridges being used so often, and we’re already looking forward to contributing again,” Kyabram Lions Club president David Livsey said.
The fridges are stocked with juices, flavoured milks, biscuits, cakes and other refreshments which residents can help themselves to when they choose.
