Shepparton police working on Operation Securus — a new taskforce targeting retail crime in the Goulburn Valley — arrested a 43-year-old Shepparton man on Sunday, May 24, at a Shepparton address.
Police said the man attended the Benalla Rd store on Friday, May 22, at around 5.27pm, while on a banning notice, and behaved threateningly towards staff.
The man has been charged with threatening assault to a customer-facing worker, unlawful assault, using threatening words in a public place, trespassing and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
He was refused bail by police; however, a bail justice later granted the man bail at an after hours hearing.
He will appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in August.
