The Parramatta lock has embraced the character for the Blues, delighting in her Origin duel with Broncos opposite Chelsea Lenarduzzi last year.
And with the Blues up 1-0 in the best-of-three series, the bubbly Cherrington has touched down in Brisbane ahead of Thursday's Suncorp Stadium promising more.
"Of course; you have to have personalities in the game and that's the special thing about Origin," Cherrington said.
"The energy that comes out; you can really express who you are and let the footy speak for itself.
"I'm the older sister of five kids so there was always banter at home and that ... makes me who I am, that makes me Kennedy.
"And Mum's always said don't let anyone take that authenticity away from me. So I just let loose on the field, you know."
The Blues came from 6-0 down to win 11-6 in the Newcastle opener and both teams have made personnel adjustments for the rematch.
"There's an extra special feeling being up here," Cherrington said after hopping off the team bus at training.
"I'd prefer a home game, but looking back at last year, it was such an unreal feeling, playing and winning in Queensland."
The series, which this week coincides with the NRL's Magic Round in Brisbane, is taking place before the NRLW season kicks off.
Cherrington is sick of hearing about why that's a bad idea.
"There's been a lot of backlash, with Origin being the first game of the season," she said.
"That kind of frustrated me. Last year it was an amazing game and this year too.
"Stop looking at that ... the season's finally here and the product can be celebrated.
"Being on the (Magic Round) roster ... it's an opportunity we can't miss."
