Kyabram is also guaranteed a representative in the women’s singles round of 64 as Sally Beach and Lea Beattie met yesterday in the second round of the finals.
The unfortunate draw resulted when both women won their sections at Tatura on Saturday. They played at Shepparton Park at 8.30am yesterday morning (Tuesday).
Anset, who bowls as lead to Geoff Beattie in Kyabram’s Division-one weekend pennant team, joined David Cartwright, Connor Trewren and Brett Reiner in the knockout stage of the tournament at Tatura Hill Top yesterday (Tuesday).
In sectional play, on a rain-affected Saturday, Anset won 21-9 and 21-14 before he had a bye in the first round of the finals and followed that with a 21-13 win against Wunghnu’a Rick Anderson.
Cartwright won his sectional matches 21-16 and 21-6 at Cobram, then beat Clayton’s Alan Vietch to set up a match with David Holt from Richmond Union.
Trewren also played at Cobram, winning both sectional matches and then scoring a 21-10 win against Beaumauris bowler Mark Bradley. He has a Warracknabeal Golf opponent in the second round of the finals.
Reiner faces Brandan Addison from Lakes Entrance in his knockout final on Tuesday morning after a bye in the first round of the finals.

Moama’s Cameron Keenan has a round-two draw against Moonee Valley’s Brayden Ellis on Tuesday at Hill Top after winning his qualifying rounds at Strathmerton on Saturday.
– Olivia Cartwright is out of the women’s singles championship, despite beating Moama teammate and Emerging Jackeroos squad member Cass Millerick in the qualifying rounds.
Cartwirght was pitted against Queensland-born Millerick and Yarrawonga’s Claire Sanders, who is a member of the Australian 60 & Over squad in the qualifying rounds.
Millerick beat Sanders 21-10 in the opening round, then Cartwright was leading midway through her match with Sanders, only to eventually lose 18-21.
Cartwright then won the match against Millerick 21-20 in spectacular fashion, but it was the latter that progressed to the finals on percentage.
Cartwright and Millerick are playing together in the pairs, due to contest the second round of the finals later this morning.
In the singles, Millerick is drawn to play Wendy Ballantine in the second round of the finals on Tuesday at Kyabram after winning the opening finals match at Kyabram 21-8 on Saturday.
In that match she was pitted against former Broadbeach teammate — and former New Zealand national champion — Leeane Poulson.
