Finley’s Spencer Hawkins was awarded Murray League’s reserves’ best and fairest at presentations on Sunday at ClubMulwala.

Hawkins played in the Finley Cats’ reserves football team that finished fourth on the ladder this season.
He was recognised for his performances, winning the Damien Jones Medal with 18 votes - one ahead of runner-up Tongala’s Todd Van Roy.
Other Cats recognised among the league’s best were senior footballers Jack and Will Sexton, who were selected in the Murray League 2026 Team of the Year.

Jack was named at ruck rover, while Will was positioned at centre halfback.
While the Cats didn’t have any other award winners on the day, they produced several top 10 vote count finishers across the different grades.
The Sextons both finished in the top five of the senior football - Jack at equal fourth and Will was equal fifth.
The other top five finisher in the senior grades was Paula Gowans, who finished fourth in the C-reserve netball.
There were also some standout results from the clubs juniors.
In the under-17s netball, Milena Sneddon finished in fifth while Charlotte Fleming was one vote behind in sixth.
Marlee Simpson also polled well, finishing equal sixth in the under-15s netball.
The other grade with top 10 finishers were the fourths footballers, who are set to play in the under-14s grand final this week.

Noah Brindley finished in fourth, with Jed Flanagan seventh and Samuel Hay equal ninth to be the other highest placed finishers.

Football:
Seniors: Jack Sexton 18 votes (4th place), Will Sexton 16 (5).
Reserves: Spencer Hawkins 18 (1), Matt Jackson 9 (7), Bailey Burke 8 (8).
Thirds: Blake Vidler 9 (10).
Fourths: Noah Brindley 25 (4), Jed Flanagan 19 (7), Samuel Hay 17 (9).
Netball:
C-Reserve: Paula Gowans 23 (4), Peta Gowans 14 (10).
Under-17s: Milena Sneddon 23 (5), Charlotte Fleming 22 (6).
