Footballer Darby Jones won the league’s rising star award.
The key position player has had a stellar 2026, featuring in Echuca’s best seven times and kicking 29 goals.
Jones also played for the GVL under-19s against the Victorian Amateur Football Association in interleague, booting two majors and making the side’s best.
Teammate and captain Mitchell Wales was in the running for the Morrison Medal.
He finished seventh on the final leaderboard, polling 14 votes, with Shepparton Bears’ Ash Holland taking out the gong with 24.
Echuca had four players vying for the Wellman Family Medal in senior netball.
Ashlea Hare polled 21 votes, placing equal-fourth and only four adrift of winner Alex Ball from Mansfield.
Centre Stephanie Vick and goaler Sheridan Townrow finished equal-eighth with 15 votes, while Lauren Jones’ 13 placed her equal-ninth.
Elsewhere on the night, Kobyn James took out the Abikhair Medal, awarded to the best-and-fairest in reserves football.
Lucy Eishold almost followed suit in the race for netball’s Sandra Cox Medal, recognising the B-grade best-and-fairest.
The mid-courter finished as runner-up, with youngster Lexie Howard also a finalist in the future stars award, won by Mooroopna’s Layla Ratcliffe.
Howard has predominantly played as a defender in Echuca’s 17-and-under side this year, but has also appeared in B-grade and B-reserve.
The Murray Bombers’ senior netball program received the defending award, given to the club which conceded the least goals across A-grade and B-grade in the regular season.
Finally, Echuca took home the George Hunter Champion Club award after amassing the most points from wins across every football and netball grade.
On Saturday, October 3, Murray Bombers Sarah Head, Kate Head, Baxter Cowley, Jett Kervin, and Max McCarty will travel to Shepparton for the junior presentations.
