Graham Lyon got a well-deserved win with pacer Heavenly Flyer, while Paul Railton produced trotter Money Talks for his second career win.
Both were well found by punters, with Heavenly Flyer starting a $1.75 favourite while Money Talks was the $1.80 top fancy.
Ace reinsman James Herbertson steered Heavenly Flyer to his maiden win in nine tries in a dominant display, finishing all over his rivals in the home straight.
Kyabram football personalities Dave Williams, Paul Newman, and Peter Croxford are in the syndicate which races Heavenly Flyer who is out of the winning Jeremes Jet mare Neishars Pet who was also trained by Lyon.
A three-year-old filly by Rock N Roll Heaven, Heavenly Flyer’s eight previous career starts had produced three runners-up finishes and two thirds so she was overdue for the win.
Trotter Money Talks was also ‘crying out loud’ for a second career win with four third placings in her last five starts.
The win was more satisfying because her trainer and driver Paul Railton also owns the six-year-old son of Cardigan Boko who hadn’t won for 24 outings, with his previous win at Shepparton in May of last year.
Railton settled Money Talks in fourth place in a small field, and when he asked the trotter to sprint in the concluding stages, he quickly strode to the front and went on to win untouched.
