For the third consecutive year, members of the St Kilda Cricket Club will play preseason matches at the Memorial Park cricket oval over two days.
The club will take part in a 50 over match tomorrow before a T20 hitout on Sunday, with both days expected to deliver ideal condition for the game.
Interested locals are welcome to head down to Memorial Park to watch some high-quality cricket.
Host club the Deniliquin Rhinos will oversee the play at the local cricketing facilities.
St Kilda’s foray into the regions results from difficulties finding high-quality cricket pitches in Melbourne at this time of year.
The preseason matches will have added significance this season, with new men’s head coach Steve Zayler leading the club after Glenn Lalor stepped down earlier this year.
Deniliquin’s Jamie Tasker helps the club coordinate its visits.
As well as showcasing the Rhinos facilities, Tasker said the visit also shines a light on Deni as a destination.
Players are encouraged to experience the town’s attractions when not on the pitch.
Since their first visit to Deniliquin in 2024, the Saints have won the past two seasons of Victoria’s Premier Cricket first division, finishing each as minor premiers before defending their top position with grand final draws against Carlton in 2025 and Melbourne earlier this year.
