Red still in the black in KDTA

Kyvalley Red extended its lead at the top of the Kyabram District Tennis Association with a win over second-placed local rival Kyvalley Black.

Red was rarely troubled in the fixture, coming away with the 7-64 to 3-47 victory.

The women’s doubles was particularly decisive for Red, Melissa Williams, Ella Forde, Nicole Hamono and Chloe Berner going a perfect three for three.

Red also claimed both singles sets, Daniel Godsmark and John Forde adding two more to their side’s tally.

In the other senior fixture, Undera remained without a win, although it only fell five games short of Girgarre in the 6-57 to 4-52 result.

Undera made up most of its ground in the men’s section, the two doubles rubbers going its way 8-1 and 8-4.

Gavin Pratt also earned a 6-2 singles victory, while the lone victory in the men’s sets for Girgarre was a narrow 6-5 result to Cameron Kelly.

Girgarre was able to make up the ground in the women’s and mixed sets, as Undera only secured a single mixed win.

Next week’s matches will see Girgarre host Kyvalley Black, while Kyvalley Red will travel to Undera.
