The women’s side bounced back from a round two defeat to Mooroopna by defeating Shepparton Strikers in round three, and in round four, it would play the latter again in the four-team competition.
The River Rats would make it consecutive victories against the same opponent by notching a tight 2-1 win.
Now with a 2-1 record, the side is still behind league leader Mooroopna on the ladder, sitting second and six points adrift, though having played one less match.
The under-13s were the only other Echuca Moama team in action, and they registered a huge win by defeating Strikers Blue 9-4, with Will Bourke named player of the match via the club’s Facebook page.
That result made it back-to-back wins for the junior River Rats, who now sit fifth on the ladder.
This weekend, all Echuca Moama teams will be in action, with the men’s side and under-16s both returning from byes in round four.
Both will be at Shepparton Regional Hockey Complex, the men’s outfit taking on Goulburn Valley Grammar School on Saturday at 2.45pm, while the under-16s are against a Shepparton Christian College-Mooroopna side earlier in the day at 11.30am.
Also returning to action is the Castlemaine outfit made up of Echuca Moama players in Hockey Central Victoria, which is facing Bendigo Senjuns at Bendigo Hockey Centre on Sunday, starting at 4.30pm.
