It was always going to take a huge effort from an undermanned Jerilderie outfit to defeat Berrigan in the first elimination final, the Dees gave everything they had.
The Berrigan seniors put together a commanding performance at Rennie on Sunday, dismantling Jerilderie by 86 points and earning their place in the next stage of 2026 finals series.
The Saints set the tone from the opening bounce, piling on 8.2 to 2.2 in the first quarter before continuing to build their lead at every change.
It was still a hard, physical hit out by both sides.
For Berrigan, Keith Tallent was unstoppable up forward, finishing with an outstanding 10 goals.
Adrian Pilgram, Brandon Batchelor and Mason Peters adding two majors, and Mitch Reilly and Jake Dalgliesh also found the big sticks as the Saints’ continually sent the ball forward and put pressure on Jerilderie’s defence.

The midfield and defence were equally impressive, Hunter and Griff Surrey were instrumental across the midfield, while Ollie Hill dictated proceedings with his football IQ, finding space, burning Jerilderie defenders on more than one occasion, and delivering the footy on a platter to the forward line.
Brandon Batchelor led by example all day and added a spectacular 70m goal from the centre square to his highlights reel.
For Jerilderie, Kane Hawkins battled tirelessly all day, splitting his time between the forward line and midfield and continuing to compete right until the final siren.
Tom Sleigh gave his all wherever he was needed, moving through a few different positions and doing everything he could to keep Jerilderie in the contest.
Brad Norton and Zye Treadway competed hard in the ruck, taking on a tough battle and giving their teammates opportunities around the ground.
With numbers down, the Jerilderie never stopped fighting and can hold their heads high for the effort they put in.

Heading into our first elimination final against Dookie, Jerilderie knew they had to be switched on from the very first whistle.
With Dookie sitting below them on the ladder, the Dees knew they would have something to prove and were prepared for a competitive game.
The first quarter was a tight contest, with both teams fighting hard and not giving an inch.
The girls remained composed and worked hard to establish themselves in the game.
By the second quarter, they managed to gain a bit more of a lead and continued to build on it.
They carried that lead into the third quarter and then found another gear in the final quarter, extending their advantage and finishing the game with a fantastic win.
What made this game so special was how level-headed the girls remained throughout the entire match.

They had control of the play, fought hard for every ball, and never stopped pushing.
