One of the lower end sides, The Road weren’t expected to pose many difficulties to a powerful Blues outfit, and that proved to be the case in one of the more comprehensive results of the season.
Milly Brock drained the first 11 scores of the game.
Never troubled throughout the contest Tonny rolled to a 77-16 victory.
The writing was on the wall immediately as the first 11 scores of the game went Tongala’s way, Milly Brock unstoppable around the ring as she sunk them all.

Congupna finally got on the board, but the Blues would double their score over the remaining minutes to lead 22-3 at quarter-time.
There was little to take note of for the remaining quarters, Tongala going about its business efficiently, while coach Abby Pettifer got a chance to move the magnets around and try out some combinations as things progressed.

Brock had a stint in defence as Chicky Vick (43 goals) and Tash Dodos (14) took over the scoring load, working clinically to run up the score.
Tongala moves to third place on the ladder with the win, part of a big group of contenders.

Mulwala (7-1) and Nathalia (7-0) are the teams to beat, but any of the top six, including the Blues, Rumbalara, Moama and Numurkah (all 5-3 or better) will be bullish this could be their year.
Tonny travels to Rumbalara this weekend in a significant test of the side’s standing.
While the premier hasn’t shown as much as it had in the past two seasons, a win over Rumba would be a big boost to the Blues’ prospects.
