It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Artie, who departed this life on
08.08.2026 at Shepparton. Born on
19.08.1940 in Reservoir Melbourne, Artie was the
Son of an Anzac Veteran, who lived his
life creating a Family he was very proud of.
Having grown up in Gippsland, Artie started
his wool classing career in 1957, married his
childhood sweetheart, Carol, in 1962 and
commenced his Family life at Woodside on a
farm. In 1981 Artie, Carol and their Family bought
the Barmah Hotel, Bridge Hotel and continued
farming at his beloved Forest View,
Barmah East.
Arthur is survived by Vanessa and Brent,
Russell and Sharon, Fiona and Heather (dec)
Rusty and Grace, Meg and Jake,
Grace and Sean, Laura and Rhys,
Tom and Amber, Odin, Nellie Tilly, Skylah Teddy,
Bobbi and Whinny.
Rest in peace Artie, we will miss you heaps.
A bloke that loved a good feed, a yarn and
great company.
