Doting husband of Jean for 77 years.
Loving father of Lyn and deeply loved grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

A lifelong West Footscray resident, just a drop punt from Whitten Oval, James proudly played for his beloved Bulldogs and later became President of the Footscray FC.

A proud Army and Air Force serviceman who loved his family, his country, sport, people and life. Perhaps the secret to his 107 years.

“I’m 107 and not out, but the next ball
might get me.”

It may be over, but what an extraordinary
innings it was.
