Death notice for

PALLOTTA (NEE FANTASIA), Dora

11/12/1932 - 12/08/2026
Publication: The Advertiser
Date Listed: 22/8/2026
Location: Hectorville

Born in Squillani, Prov. Avellino, Italy

on December 11, 1932.

Passed away peacefully at Bene Italian Village, St Agnes,

surrounded to the end by her loving family and caring exceptional staff

on August 12, 2026.

Aged 93 years.

Loved and loving wife of

Stefano (deceased 2017) for 68 years.

Devoted Mum of Maria and Tony,

and adored mother-in-law of Robert and Eva.

Cherished Nonna of

Stephanie, Steven and Victoria, and Deanna.

Joyous Bisnonna of Amelie, Giuseppe,

Billie and Charlotte

Beloved daughter of

Maria Perrotta and Pasquale Fantasia (both deceased).

Youngest sister of

Giovanni, Ernestina, Paolo, and Antonio (all deceased).

Mum kept this statement in her wallet for Dad's funeral and her own:

'Io sono nata al paese e sono morta al paese giusto

che ci ha dato il pane quotidiano.'

'I was born in a small village and I died in a country

that welcomed us and gave us the opportunity

to earn our daily bread.'

To our incredible Mum, Nonna and Bisnonna

together with your beloved Stefano, our Dad,

you taught us to live fully, love muchly, and greet the world and its jolts with courage and compassion;

to seek joy and adventure;

to defy prejudices and negativity;

to be grateful and never forget our roots in poverty, injustice and war;

and to embrace neighbours, children, friends, anyone who was "bravu", and create families of choice.

You were ahead of your time in how you raised me, your daughter, to be independent, strong, question corruption, and follow my dreams.

We'll miss you every day but are comforted knowing you lived a life full of kindness, generosity, passion, wicked humour and open heart.

You will always live in and through us.

Steph recalls a childhood of happy school holidays over from Melbourne where your panini of tomato, oregano and cheese fed all her friends.

Giuseppe will miss his weekly treks to "Nonna Dora's house" at Bene St Agnes where he scootered in the sunshine, picked flowers in the garden, and where Nonna's friends and carers greeted him with delight, chocolates and apple juice.

Stephanie and Giuseppe

In Loving Memory of Our Beautiful Mum,

Nonna and Bisnonna

In the 1950s, Mum left her home in Squillani, Italy, and came to Australia in search of a better life.

Sixty-eight years ago, she married our father, Stefano, and together they built a life centered around love, hard work, respect, and strong family values.

Mum raised my sister Maria first, followed by me Tony, teaching us the importance of respect, loyalty, and family. She supported us above and beyond throughout our lives and later lovingly cared for Steven and Deanna while we worked full-time.

Mum was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, with a beautiful warm heart. She will always be remembered for her caring nature, her smile and laughter, and for rarely complaining no matter what life brought her.

She was deeply loved and respected by her family, friends, and community.

Mum, thank you for everything you did for us. Your love and values will live on through our family forever.

Forever loved and never forgotten.

Tony and Eva

Steven and Victoria, Deanna

Amelie, Billie and Charlotte
