Back to the Future star James Tolkan dies aged 94
James Tolkan, known for Back to the Future and Top Gun, has died aged 94 after a remarkable acting career spanning decades.

It is with great sadness that we advise that the funeral for Teena Joy Sandford who passed away on Anzac Day at the Hospice from Pancreatic Cancer, will be held this Friday 15 May 2026.
Teena is the daughter of Barry and Cynthia Sandford, widow of Darryl John South (dec’d), mother of Allysa Sandford-South, grandmother of little Darryl Sandford-South, mother in law to Brendan, sister to Kerrie Taylor, sister in law to Mick Taylor, Aunty to Wade Taylor and Stevie Tayor, grandmother to Luna Atkinson, and niece to Glenn and Kaye Cole, niece to Henry Bacon, cousin to Rodney Bacon, step mother to Anita Davis and Graeme Blencowe, nana to Cade and Rhys Davis, Aunty to Jeremy, Ashley and Aaron South, partner of Duncan Bell, Nursery woman and Horticulturist extraordinaire, dear friend and mentor to many, past host of the ABC Darwin Gardener radio show, past Judge at the Royal Darwin Show, mother to her loyal fur baby Fido.
Teena was the most considerate, generous and thoughtful person, who was selfless in her approach to life, always putting others’ needs before her own. Teena loved the outdoors, road trips and camping were a big part of her life. A passionate Supercars Holden/Chevy fan, a collector of vintage cars and passionate about growing plants to make the world a cleaner, healthier place for all to share.
Loved and respected by all that knew her, she will be sorely missed. Please wear colourful attire.
Teena’s wake is to be held at 5.00pm on Friday after the funeral at the Darwin Sailing Club.
