Look no further than a fun-filled night in Murchison at the local Community Centre for the Stand Up for Murchison event.
For a gold coin donation, attendees can enjoy live comedy, a free sausage sizzle, and guest speaker Warren Davies, known as The Unbreakable Farmer.
Warren is one of Australia’s leading rural mental health speakers.
His life has been shaped by farming, family, financial pressure and the experience of rebuilding after significant personal and professional loss.
These challenges tested his resilience, persistence and determination, and continue to inform the work he does today.
He brings this lived experience into conversations with individuals, organisations and communities, helping people better understand how pressure accumulates, how recovery really works and why wellbeing is about more than simply “pushing through”.
Neighbourhood House Murchison manager Jessie Boer said the community event is dedicated to supporting mental health awareness in a welcoming and light-hearted environment that will also showcase comedians.
“Performers Dave O’Neil and Des Dowling will bring laughter and entertainment,” Mrs Boer said.
“Stand Up for Murchison offers a great opportunity to come together, enjoy a fun night out, and support an important cause within the community.”
Beverages will also be available for sale throughout the evening and, in addition to the entertainment, mental health information and resources will be accessible, helping to promote awareness and encourage open conversations around wellbeing.
The event starts at 5.30pm on Sunday, June 14 at the Murchison Community Centre, 10 Watson St.
