The Dinosaurs and Fossils program will visit Mooroopna Library on Friday, July 3, offering families an opportunity to get up close to prehistoric exhibits and fossil replicas from around the world.
Visitors will be able to examine casts of a Triceratops horn, teeth and part of a frill, as well as a Tarbosaurus skull and leg.
The exhibition will also feature casts of dinosaur eggs, Archaeopteryx and Gallimimus fossils, along with Koolasuchus cleelandi, Victoria’s state fossil emblem and an ancient amphibian believed to have grown to the size of a car.
Each 30-minute session will be led by Museums Victoria staff, who will guide participants through the displays and share insights into prehistoric life.
The program is designed to give children the chance to experience what it is like to be a palaeontologist, exploring fossils and learning about dinosaurs from Australia and around the world.
Dinosaur-themed craft and colouring activities will also be available throughout the day.
Sessions will run at Mooroopna Library, on 9-11 Morrell St, from 10am to 1.30pm on Friday, July 3.
