The fault was first reported around 8pm on Thursday, July 16, when an ageing sewer main ruptured on Ogilvie Ave near Campaspe Esplanade, sending a sewer spill into the area alongside the Campaspe River.
Traffic management was put in place, with one lane of Ogilvie Ave closed while emergency repairs were carried out.
A Coliban Water spokesperson said the sewer main had been repaired as of Friday, July 17, at 7.25am.
“The burst was caused when an ageing sewer main ruptured. Crews worked through the night to repair the sewer main,” the spokesperson said.
Although the sewer main is back up and running, one lane of Ogilvie Ave was expected to remain closed until road repairs were finished later on Friday.
Coliban Water said normal sewer services were not affected by the incident.
An environmental response officer attended the scene, and the spill has been formally reported to the Environment Protection Authority Victoria, ensuring proper oversight of any environmental impact.
