A master plan is being designed for the future of KidsTown Adventure Playground, following Greater Shepparton City Council’s formal commitment to the project in August 2025.

Community consultation was undertaken in September 2025 to help shape the site’s future direction, with the master plan expected to be completed later this year, after which it will be made available for public review and further consultation.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the site held significance for many residents.
“KidsTown has been the place of memories for generations,” he said.
“The community has told us they want the site returned to its former glory, and council has committed to making that happen.
“We have made a formal commitment to ensuring KidsTown Adventure Playground is accessible, safe and well used for many years to come.”
Remediation works were also undertaken earlier this year to remove ageing infrastructure that was no longer safe or accessible.
Commemorative bricks removed during the process are being stored and will be reinstated as part of future works. The draft master plan will be made publicly available once finalised.
