Presented by the Greater Shepparton branch of the Blue Ribbon Foundation, the latest instalment of Inside Story will see two Victoria Police Melbourne detectives talk about cases from start to finish.
Greater Shepparton branch of the Blue Ribbon Foundation president David Doherty said the night would see the detectives talk through the cases, right from the crime being committed through to the prosecution of the offender.
The detectives will give attendees a chance to see and hear details not covered in the media.
The step-by-step presentations almost make those present feel like part of the investigating team when the final arrest is made.
“It’s a rare insight into investigations,” Mr Doherty said.
“Anyone interested in true crime would be interested.”
All money raised from the night will go to Goulburn Valley Health for a combined project — such as the upgrade to a specific room or a piece of needed equipment, which is then dedicated to a police officer who died in the line of duty, Mr Doherty said.
The night is open to anyone aged over 18 years.
The event will be held on Friday, May 23, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at the Ballantine Centre at Tatura Football Netball Club at 9 Hastie St, Tatura.
The cost is $40 and a light supper will be provided. Drinks will be available to buy.
There will be raffles held on the night, as well as door prizes.
Bookings close on May 20, and can be made online at trybooking.com/events/landing/1385918
For the event to be held, at least 100 tickets need to be sold by Monday, May 12.
