The Bombers were not expected to provide much resistance against the Cats, a premiership contender that entered the fixture with a strong 7-1 record from their opening eight matches.
The gap between the two sides would be reflected almost immediately, as after Mooroopna led 4-3 three minutes in, it rained down the goals for the remainder of the first quarter, netting 17 straight to lead 21-3 at the first break.
Ky stopped the avalanche with the first goal of the second period before Mooroopna began a new run, scoring 14 in a row to balloon its lead beyond 30 goals, eventually taking a 44-9 advantage into half-time.
The second half would see much of the same, the Bombers improving slightly with 10 goals across the third and fourth periods, though Mooroopna still stretched the margin to astronomical levels, adding another 40 to its total to win 84-19.
Kyabram’s minor total was split between two players, Lara Cunningham and Jazmin Clark, who scored 11 and eight goals, respectively, while on its Facebook page, the club named Grace Kilpatrick as best-on.
Next up, Kyabram has arguably its most winnable fixture of the season, facing Benalla, the only other winless side in the competition.
