Undera came as close as ever to its first win, but fell three goals short.
Undera logged its closest result of the season, while the final six looks to be locked in after round 13 of Kyabram District League netball.
Undera v Longwood

It’s been a season of disappointment for Undera and, although it put in its best performance of the year, Longwood narrowly kept the Lions winless in the bottom-of-the-table showdown.
The Lions were well in the contest throughout, but at the final siren the Redlegs edged out the host at Undera Recreation Reserve, 32-29.
The result likely dooms Undera to the wooden, with Murchison-Toolamba on August 1 the Lions’ only remaining opponent that is nearby them on the table.
Longwood now has two wins for the year.
Lancaster v Girgarre
Lancaster continued its roll towards a top two finish, dispatching Girgarre and likely putting an end to the Roos faint finals hopes.
The Wombats dominated the home fixture, cruising to a 48-19 win.
After getting through Girgarre, Lancaster is preparing for a blockbuster meeting with Shepparton East.
Lancaster, in second, leads nearest chaser Nagambie by four points, with a game in hand.
Girgarre falls to 14 points adrift of the top six, with only four fixtures to play.
Rushworth v Stanhope
In another mismatch between sides at opposite ends of the ladder, Rushworth accounted for Stanhope in a routine victory.
The 48-15 win at Rushworth Recreation Reserve keeps the Tigers (8-3) in the chase for third spot, Lancaster’s form likely ruling them out of a top two finish and the attached double chance in the finals.
Stanhope is jockeying for lower table position, currently 11th but with a realistic chance to push for eighth should it finish strong.
Murchison-Toolamba v Merrigum
Merrigum kept the finals chasers at arms length with a solid victory over Murchison-Toolamba away from home.
The Hoppers couldn’t keep up with the in-form Bulldogs, which claimed the points 47-25.
The Bulldogs (7-1-3) have now won four in a row, all but securing a finals berth.
Merrigum strengthened its finals case with victory over Murchison-Toolamba.
In other fixtures, leader Shepparton East ended the run of recent giantslayer Tallygaroopna in a competitive 37-27 result away at to the Redlegs.
Nagambie accounted for Violet Town 51-28.
This Saturday’s round 14 is filled with contests between finals contenders.
The round highlighted by a top-of-the table clash between Shepparton East and Lancaster at Central Park Recreation Reserve.
The two next best sides will also battle as Rushworth travels to Nagambie and the last two of the top six, Merrigum and Tallygaroopna, will face off at Merrigum.
Undera is on the road at Avenel, while Girgarre hosts Violet Town and Longwood entertains Murchison-Toolamba.
